Public Asked to Provide Input on Aurora’s Future

The City of Aurora and the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG; pronounced: ‘sim-cog’) are excited to present the 2022 update of the Aurora Comprehensive Plan for public input. The comprehensive plan has served as a continuous source of guidance for the city regarding land use and the continued improvement of city services since it was last updated in 2009. Moving forward, the Plan will serve as a guide for managing the growth of the city and capitalizing on the city’s unique assets.

The public may access a draft version of the document beginning on July 7, 2022, through July 21, 2022, as a digital version on the city’s website or as a print version at the Aurora City Hall during business hours. The Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG) is a Regional Planning Commission and an association of local governments in a ten-county area of southwest Missouri. SMCOG serves Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney, and Webster counties. SMCOG is one of 19 active regional planning organizations throughout Missouri.
