Wastewater Department

Overview

The wastewater department consists of four employees and they are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's treatment facilities, collection system including:

  • Lift stations
  • RV dump site
  • Yard waste area

Treatment Facility

The treatment facility (it has a design capacity of 2.0 MGD with a hydraulic capacity of 7.0 MGD) is an activated sludge process consisting of:

  • 2 sand-filters
  • 4 clarifiers
  • 6 influent pumps
  • Fine step bar screen
  • Ram press
  • UV-disinfectant

Collection System

The collection system consists of:

  • 48.6 miles of gravity sewer lines ranging from six inch diameter to twenty two inches
  • 7 lift stations
  • 939 manholes
  • Approximately 2.5 miles of force main lines

Yard Waste

In the yard waste area we accept tree limbs, leaves, grass, yard and garden plants. The yard and garden waste is made into compost and available to the residents on a first come basis. 

The area is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
