Annual Chamber Banquet
The Aurora Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Membership Banquet is a membership celebration where we come together as a community to celebrate to accomplishments of the past year. We also take this time to recognize outstand leadership and commitment to our community and spend some time with friends and colleagues celebrating Aurora. This event is held every January.
During this event, we also work with organizations such as the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, the Aurora Community Foundation and many other organizations in the announcement of grant awards to grant applicants for worthwhile projects planned for the coming year.
This event is also about recognition of service to the community. As a part of the Annual Membership Banquet, several awards are given to individuals, organizations or businesses for outstanding service and leadership within the community.
Stepping Up to the Plate Award – This award is given to individuals or groups that take the initiative to make things happen in Aurora. Upon seeing a need or a problem, these Individuals, groups or organizations have worked diligently to address the issue and work toward addressing the issue in a positive and proactive way in order to make our community better.
Top Dawg Awards – The winner of the Top Dawg Award is given to a person or group who have consistently been a supporter of the community, actively worked to impact the community in a constructive way and have exemplified a positive influence on the Aurora Community.
Small Business of the Year – this award is given to the small business that has shown growth, customer service, community service, and innovation within the Aurora business community.
Large Business of the Year – this award is given to a larger business that shares a commitment to professional excellence, business growth and support of the Aurora community.
Community Impact Business Award – The Community Impact Award is to honor an Aurora Chamber of Commerce business that has provided a distinct and valuable impact to our community and has shown outstanding contributions to our community.
Loyd R. Ellis Award –Loyd R. Ellis was an entrepreneur with vision and tenacity. The award seeks to honor individuals who have made notable contributions to the Aurora Community, has demonstrated a commitment to service above self and has provided at least three to five years of service to the Aurora community.
Community Service Award – This award is the highest recognition that the Chamber gives to a member of our community. This award honors persons who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. The honoree selected serves as a role model for compassion, and service and strives to make the world a better place. He/ she has a passion for helping others in the community. The Community Service Award is given each year to an individual who has given their time, attention and resources to the community for at least 10 years.
