NEW Recreation/Events Coordinator: We welcome Emily Journagan as the newest staff member to the City of Aurora. Emily is in charge of all city sponsored leagues, camps and other programming. She has created some new activities for the youth of Aurora -- see information below:

Messy Mondays: One monday night each month for October, November, December, kids aged 2-6 are invited to the Community Center for a one hour story time and craft. For a flyer and registration form, click here

Teen Pool Party: We're holding the Aurora pool open for one more night for the teenagers (age 13-18) to have a fun, pool party on Saturday, September 11, 2010. This is a supervised event. For more information and registration form, click here

Farmer's Market
Aurora now has two Farmer's Markets held each week at Oak Park on Church Street. The Open Farmers Market of Aurora is located on the east side of the park and is open Wednesdays from 12 noon - 5 pm and Saturdays from 7 am - noon. The Aurora Farmers Market is located on the west side of the park and is open Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays from 8 am - noon. For more information, please call 678-2324 or 417-357-6847. Both markets provide a variety of goods from fresh produce, canned produce and jams, baked goods, plants and more!

Run for the Parks:
This inaugural event was a huge success, raising $3,500 to go towards future walking trails in Aurora. Stay tuned for information on 2011 Run for the Parks.

Aurora Light the Night Fireworks show and Mustang Mania Car Show:
Another successful event took place in Aurora on June 19, 2010. This event will be back on June 18, 2011. Stay tuned for more information.

Aurora Fly -In:
The fall Fly-In is scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd. For more information, call Aurora Aviation at 678-3000.

Rockin' A Saddle Club Rodeo:
Stay tuned for the 2011 Rodeo dates.

Lion Fest:
This event is held September 11, 2010 from 11 am - 6 pm at Oak Park. Sponsored by the Aurora Lions Club. Meal tickets are $5.50 in advance, $6.00 at the event.

Aurora Chamber of Commerce Car Show:
Scheduled for October 2, 2010 at Oak Park and features classic cars, entertainment and craft booths. For more information, call 678-4150.
